Falafels have been a favorite of ours for as long as we can remember. Homemade, will of course always be number one. But, there is so much you can do with them, and there are so many ways to eat them.
The authentic falafels are made by using chickpeas which have been soaked and ground up. Then, after being seasoned with garlic, parsley, cumin, salt, and pepper, they are made into patties or little balls to be deep-fried.
One of the simplest ways to eat falafel is in a pita bread with some fresh veggies to garnish it topped with hummus or tahini. Why not get creative and add a twist to your traditional falafel?
You can even use a variety of beans to make your falafel instead of using chickpeas. Adding other yummy ingredients like pistachios, walnuts, beets and sweet potatoes can be an alternative to the usual flavors. If you're up for it, you can also bake them, instead of frying, or if you're feeling creative, you can make falafel loaves instead of patties!

1. Falafel-stuffed peppers with a coconut dill sauce: Season your falafels with some fresh basil and parsley and add a squeeze of lemon juice and stuff them into red peppers. Finish them off nicely with a touch of coconut dill sauce.
2. Falafel burgers with a twist: If you haven't tried a falafel burger yet, do yourself a favor and make one of these, by using some homemade burger buns, adding your falafel, and mixing it up with some avocado and spinach.
3. Falafel pizza: Creat a pizza base by using similar ingredients, chickpeas, fresh herbs, and spices. When it comes out the oven, top it with beet hummus and a choice of veggies. Once the veggies have roasted, drizzle a cheesy tahini sauce over it.

4. Beet and chickpea falafel: These don't only taste amazing but look amazing too. Made from fresh beets and rolled into falafel balls, they are perfect over a bed of salad with a coconut yogurt or tahini sauce for a bit of tang. If you like, you can even wrap these babies up in a pita.
5. Spicy Korean sweet potato falafel tacos with white kimchi: This falafel recipe is awesome, it's a fusion of Korean, Mediterranean, and Mexican flavors.
6. Smoky falafel burgers: The secret to this recipe is smoked paprika, which gives your burgers a smoky, spicy flavor.
7. Sweet potato falafel and avocado dip: These are great appetizers as they are naturally sweet. Add some flavor to the falafel by adding turmeric, garlic, cumin, and chili flakes. Dip it in a creamy avocado sauce.
8. Falafel tacos: Simply swap your pita bread for a taco, add your falafel, and serve with homemade green sauce with a touch of tahini and cilantro. Delicious!

9. Chickpea and pistachio falafel: Adding some pistachios to your falafel mix will give it a bit of crunch and a unique flavor combination.
10. Beet falafel burger: Bake your beet and chickpea mix for a lovely, crispy crust and a soft, sweet and spicy inside. Top them off with some guacamole.
11. Roasted poblano kale falafel: Roast a few falafel-stuffed poblano peppers. To add to the smoky, spicy flavor, add a garnish of your choice and some tahini sauce along with it.
12. Falafel waffles: These are great to eat at any time of the day, and you can top them with some hummus instead of syrup, and add a fresh garnish.
13. Spinach falafel and tahini dressing: Add some fresh spinach to your falafel mix, fry it up and serve with a tahini sauce.

14. Falafel burger: Use a combination of fava beans and chickpeas for a succulent patty which you can serve on a bun with fennel, cumin, and coriander seeds.
15. Baked sweet potato and walnut falafel: Wow, the sweet potato and walnuts are a mouthwatering blend of flavors, just perfect for a falafel and by simply adding a few fresh herbs, you can't go wrong!
