As-salamu alaykum, I am a genealogist and I am in the process of becoming a writer of fiction and non-fiction. I live near Pittsburgh in the United States. I'm an introvert. I do not drink, smoke or gamble and I am celibate until marriage. I'm a staunch believer in loyalty and family. I'd like to find someone who is also a bit on traditional side and feels the same. I've been told I have a good sense of humor before and I enjoy making others laugh. I am also passionate about social justice. In terms of my deen, I am new to Islam, although I first read the Quran about a decade ago and have studied the works of Islamic scholars. I have been a devout Christian most of my life and I am descended from Christian nobility, including Sayyid Abu Zayd, an Almohad descendant of the Idrisids, who left the fold to become Catholic. Although attracted to the Zaidi fiqh, given that it is virtually non-existent outside of Yemen, I would be comfortable attending more or less any Sunni masjid. My religion is very important to me and while I still learning I love the study of theology and I hope to one day be respected in that field.
