Intelligent, nice guy. Really!

Looking for someone who will never feel the need to hide something from me. Someone who actually wants to tell me about everything that's going on in her life and wants to hear about mine. Someone who's not into head games -- now, board games, that's something we can play. :) I'm an intelligent, sophisticated, international, well-informed, witty, sarcastic, Type-A personality with a strong romantic streak. My good friends tell me that I'm their favorite confidant, great at listening, comforting, and problem-solving when needed. As an embassy brat, I grew up all over the world. I've lived in Egypt, Turkey, Syria, Sweden, Singapore, Zimbabwe, Romania, and briefly in Spain and the UK. I loved all those experiences -- learned so much about people, cultures, languages, and of course ethnic food! Yum! As a result, I've developed a very open mind, a love of adventure, and a general appreciation of people's differences and surprising similarities. The most important things to me in a relationship are: open communication, trust, loyalty, commitment, and the ability to have fun together and talk about everything. I love to try just about anything new! Seriously, not like everyone else who says that just to sound cool (though I'm definitely also cool. ;) ) I try to give back by being involved in Arab-American cultural, social, and political orgs. My favorite Arabic saying is "Pick your travel partner before your destination," which is why I'm here. What's yours? Looking For: In terms of personality traits I look for, intelligence (both book smarts and street smarts), an insatiable appetite for new knowledge and challenges, and a kind heart are key. Caring about the world and wanting to make a difference would be a big plus. I have a fairly sarcastic, quick wit -- so I would ideally be with someone who can appreciate that and join in. In the short term, it would be nice to make some new friends, go out, have some fun. What I'm ultimately looking for, in the longer term, is a life partner in every sense. Someone who wants to share in my life, and have me share in hers. Someone who wants to teach and learn, who wants to build a family life greater than the sum of its parts, and who wants to have children and raise them to be independent, kind, and happy. Someone who is ambitious and will push me to greater heights and let me push her likewise.
