Just what the Doctor ordered!!!

I am a Registered Nurse, ready to meet a nice man who can become a great companion, someone to spend special times with, travel, dinner, or stay at home. The kids are grown and on their own, I am semi-retired and ready for me and you. I'll give you a tip: Bald is sexy! In my spare time I like to garden, sing, craft, cook and I am a stand up comic! With thirty six years of registered nursing in high risk OB, then in hospice, I believe that laughter is the best medicine (at the right time, that is!). If I can make people laugh, I know they're letting go of stress and feeling good at the same time. I am looking for friendship that has the potential of becoming a loving, monogamous relationship. I am young at heart and have great energy. I am fun loving, like to laugh and am interested in a fun-loving, light-hearted, gentle-hearted man, one who can laugh and enjoy the simple things in life as well as the finer things in life. I want a man who is compassionate and loves all of mankind. I am very peace loving and without prejudice, even moreso now, in this day of world violence. Please be a non-smoker (occasional hookah is OK). Light, social drinking is OK, but drunkenness is not. I want to meet a man who is driven, yet can take time to enjoy himself, his family, and us, one who can relax and smell the fresh air. I don't like to argue and do not like extreme jealousy. Honesty, open communication, and integrity are extremely important to the success of any relationship.

Antiques
They are nice. I have a few in my home.
Art
I am an artist. One day I would love to introduce you to my many talents.
Astrology
I am a Leo. I see behavior patterns in people that represent their birth sign, but other than that - it is there for fun. If we could really tell the future, we would all be rich and live in a safe and peaceful world. Don't you think?
Astronomy
I got a C in college. Hated it!!!
Barbecues
I love to BBQ with family and friends. There is nothing quite like a backyard BBQ.
Bars
Not my thing. Never has been my thing, either. One glass of wine every 2 or 3 years is plenty for me and even then, I will probably take only a few sips. I am just not into alcohol, really.

I used to play basketball with my grandsons when they were little. They were always surprised that Nana could make a basket.
Biology
Love it. It is a HUGE part of my career as a registered nurse.

Maybe an occasional solitaire.
Cars
Mine is pretty dependable and comfortable to drive. One day I will buy myself an old 1954 (or there abouts) Ford pick-up. I am not sure why I have not purchased one. It has always been just a fun looking truck to drive.
Children
I love children. I have 3 sons. They grew up too fast. I enjoyed EVERYTHING about raising them, except sometimes while they were teenagers. They outgrew that stage and now are family men.
Circus
Do they even have it anymore? My dad used to take us when we were kids.
Comedy
I love comedy. I do a little bit of stand up, myself.
Community Service
I am a very strong community activist. I have been blessed to become educated in my profession, so I feel it is part of my civil duty to help those who are less fortunate. However...I do draw the line. I will help anyone, but when they can do their part, basically show up, then that's what they need to do. I will empower, not enable.
Cooking
I have been cooking since I was about 5 years old, simple things, but my Mom taught me to cook everything. I cook almost everything from scratch and without recipes or mixing spoons. I love to try new dishes. Can I cook your favorite meal one day?
Dancing
I want to learn to tango. I need a good partner. Would that be you???
Dating
I am not a serial dater. I would rather not date than to go out just to go out. I am looking for a friendship that has the potential to grow. I have worked a lot with older patients with cancer and other life altering illnesses. It is very sad to watch them die alone. Friends will stop by for short visits, but having someone to hold the patient, love them, just to be by their side in their final days is very important, and something I would like to have one day. That is, if it is in my cards. Make sense???

Medicine
I'm a nurse. What can I say? I believe in most Western medicine, but am not in agreement with the control the pharmaceutical and insurance industries have over healthcare. I am in favor of Eastern medicine, too. Whatever it takes to fix people, without selfish control, is what I am in favor of.

Insights
Describe the perfect evening.
A romantic dinner, followed by a walk and maybe a latte, and late night in the jacuzzi.
Describe your perfect weekend.
Much like the above but maybe during a trip to the wine country, add in a nice couple's massage. Breakfast at a quaint little cafe, shopping at the little shops, lunch and then home to start the week.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
No. How can one know you love someone when you just met them. There is more to love than just the hard candy shell.
How many kids would you like to have?
None. That ship sailed a LONG TIME AGO!!!
How important is someone's physical appearance to you?
Very important. Please be well groomed. I am not into big bushy beards, nor long hair. Bald is beautiful, but so is nicely groomed hair. No long fingernails and no scraggly mustache. A nice goatee is nice. Most importantly, physical appearance (how one carries himself) says a lot about self-esteem and self -image, lifestyle.
If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
I would abolish guns, altogether. I don't like them. There are too many out there. It seems that the people who are shooting them are the crazy ones who should NOT have guns in their possession.
What is the purpose of marriage?
Security, financial and otherwise. There is give and take in all relationships, but with marriage, we are more likely going to take care of one another in the way that brought us together. If we stay married, we are more likely to be there for one another until death do us part.
What is the most important lesson that you've learned?
All that glitters isn't gold.
What do your friends like about you most?
I am friendly, funny, and I am reliable. I have a huge heart and I am also very diplomatic in all situations. My colleagues used to tell me I reminded them of Erin Brockovich. I am ALL for what is right and sometimes that means having to go to bat for someone whose rights are being violated.
What do your friends tease you about the most?
They tease me because I tend to be funny (but only with the right company). It is important to know the climate of the crowd - what is appropriate and what isn't?
What gets on your nerves?
People who blatantly lie and they KNOW that you know but keep on lying. Grrrrr!!! Lies and deceit. I am upfront and promise you I will NEVER lie. Please, you do the same!
What is the most important thing in a relationship?
Monogamy, trust, respect, open communication, pampering each other, being present for each other when necessary. It is also important to value one another's input into the relationship. Relationships aren't a one way street!
What's the best age to get married?
When we are old enough to commit ourselves 100% to a relationship. It is not age specific (teenagers don't count in this one).
What turns you off?
A showoff, men AND women who flirt with another's partner or husband/wife. The lack of respect and morals we see out there is amazing, sad, and just not right. What happened to relationship boundaries? I have seen it in men and women. Smokers and people who cannot hold their alcohol are a huge turn off. Extreme jealousy is a turn off. Lying is a HUGE turn off.
What turns you on?
Getting flowers when least expected turns me on. A man who wears very subtle, but nice cologne turns me on. Doing things together, like cooking or watching a great movie on TV at night, together, turns me on.
What do you hope to be doing five years from now?
Thriving. Thriving in a nice relationship would be nice, but if not, then just "thriving" and enjoying life like I currently do.
